SHORT BIO | I studied at the Willem de Kooning Academy and the Emily Carr University of Art and Design, but my education really started much earlier, at home, with my father, who is also a photographer. Over the past twenty years, I’ve gained a wide range of experience working all over the world, enough to call myself all-round or somewhat confusingly versatile. What makes me happiest is creating stylistic portraits on location and documentary photography. As a practice, I love to wander trhough different cities, finding beauty in the mundane. I edit and sometimes merge images, aiming to turn them into more layered, narrative fine art compositions, aspiring, at least, to get them there.
After graduating, a journey that lasted nearly five years led me to dream not only of images, but also of trees, homegrown vegetables, and rainwater harvesting. This period took me from a tribunal in Delhi to some of the largest communities on earth, and introduced me to many remarkable people. It left my partner and me with a strong sense of urgency, but also with clarity about how creativity, craft, and nature can meet in everyday life. Owning a plot of land and becoming more self-sufficient gradually became part of live as an independent creative. Rediscovering old Moorish irrigation channels and watching a once-dry piece of land burst into bloom has become a quiet kind of joy, one I love to share through the creation of a ‘Third Place’: a space rooted in real nature where people can slow down, reorient, and spark new ideas. But most of all, a place to refocus, something I suspect many of us are quietly craving more and more.
Cheers!
